What Does it Mean When You've Been "Booed"?

You've Been Boo'd

If you have received a "Boo Basket" it means someone who really enjoys Halloween is excited to share some spooky fun with you!

Traditionally this is done anonymously amongst friends and neighbors. However, we at Candyland Studio thought it would be fun for businesses to partake in this cute activity as well, so we started "Booing" local businesses and even sending Boo Baskets to our customers!

What to do if you've been "Booed":

First, enjoy your treat! Then place the "We've Been Booed" sign in a door or window so everyone knows you've already received treats. Next, this is totally optional but definitely encouraged - go "Boo" someone else!

How to keep the fun going and "Boo" someone else:

Gather some Halloween treats, this can be as little or extravagant as you like. Include instructions and a "We've Been Booed" sign (Get our free printable HERE).  Then secretly leave it on someone's doorstep or place they will find it. Try to do this without being seen...it's all part of the fun!

What to Include in a Boo Basket?

You can put just about anything you like in your Boo Baskets! You can find all kinds of Halloween trinkets and treats online or even better, locally - if you have a small business this is a great opportunity to maybe share some of your own goodies!

It's always a good idea to consider your audience and try to include things the recipients will really enjoy - for example, when we "Boo" neighbors with small children we include age appropriate treats.

Here are just a few ideas to get your creative wheels turning:

  • Candy
  • Cookies
  • Juice Boxes
  • Sodas/Flavored Waters
  • Stickers
  • Pencils/Pens
  • Books
  • Socks
  • Note Pads

Whatever you do we hope you have lots of FUN!! We LOVE Boo stories and photos so please tag us or share on our Facebook Page, or email laura@candylandstudio.com!
